Following the successful delivery of BTEC Dance at the Beacon School in Banstead, Surrey, Star Steppers were then asked to run the BTEC Dance course at The Warwick School in Redhill, Surrey.

The BTEC Dance syllabus allows the students to study dance in a very practical and vocational learning environment. It is such a wonderful opportunity for secondary school students to develop their dance skills and prepare for further dance training. We feel strongly that dance should be a physical learning experience and this is why the BTEC course is so valuable for people wanting to learn to dance.

We work closely with schools to deliver a scheme of work that benefits the students and the school; whether it is pure dance classes such as Jazz, Street Dance, Contemporary Dance, body conditioning. Or theory; movement analysis, choreographic skills, music theory, performance appreciation and writing a reflective learning journal.

The BTEC Dance course is flexible and can be studied as a full-time or part-time course, during school or as an extra curricular activity. The BTEC Dance qualification is recognised by industry professionals and many BTEC Dance students go on to successfully gain jobs in their chosen area of work. Some of our BTEC students have have been invited to work for Star Steppers, assisting classes. As professionally trained dancers, with a wealth of experience, we are able to pass on our knowledge and physically demonstrate the dance techniques required. This high quality, professional training provides students with a first class learning experience. Hannah Everitt, has completed her OSCA training and is now the lead Internal Verifier for BTEC Dance at The Beacon School. And Anna Brunton has completed the DTAP course, and passed with flying colours. Both Anna and Hannah are the directors of Star Steppers Performing Arts Ltd. Many of our students have progressed beyond expectation, with improved knowledge, skill, fitness and increased confidence. Being part of the course and performing their work has given them and their families immense pride, it is such a positive experience for them.
