We have the pleasure of working with lots of local schools. We are thrilled that boys and girls are exposed to performing arts in schools as we feel that dance can support all aspects of the curriculum.
We are constantly counting, recalling lyrics and steps, covering a huge range of themes and topics, improving key movement skills, and stretching ourselves physically and mentally. There are so many different skills required in a dance workshop.
Many schools will ask us to run dance workshops, teaching street dance or musical theatre styles which is right up our street. What a treat to have dance incorporated in the school day. Some schools will inform us what topics they are covering in class such as Roald Dahl or Minibeasts and we will build plans to support their chosen themes. This is always really fun as themes help us to conjure up lots of new exciting ideas! Children thrive in these creative sessions and we also find that teachers discover new approaches and give them the confidence to lead these kind of sessions themselves when we are not there.
